Gosple According To Mr. Allen

Located in Harlem, the Addicts' Rehabilitation Center is one of the largest drug rehabilitation centers in the nation, primarily serving the African American community. Since it opened in 1957, over 30,000 men and women have been treated in the center. Through a six-month program, the Addicts' Rehabilitation Center takes people off the streets and prepares them to return to a productive life within the community. The film follows the lives of two men and one woman as they attempt to resist past habits and the street. Mr. James Allen, the founder of the Addicts' Rehabilitation Center and himself a recovered drug addict, is the spiritual leader and mastermind of the program. He granted Gabriel Films access to his program to help others better understand addiction and the challenges of recovery
