Simeon Soffer, Director

New York filmmaker Simeon Soffer got his start at the High School of Art and Design where he directed his first films. He went on to graduate from Disney's California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. He ran his own music video and commercial production company in NYC, directing music videos for a wide variety of major label acts. He then hooked up with Jonathan Stack and began directing documentary films for Stack's Gabriel Films. Simeon Soffer's documentary credits include "The Wildest Show in the South" a half hour documentary on the Angola Prison Rodeo, an official selection of the 2000 Sundance Film Festival; "I, Rodeo Bullfighter," a one hour documentary on rodeo clowns broadcast on Discovery Channel; and "Deep Sea, Deep Secrets" a one hour film on hydrothermal vents, also broadcast on the Discovery Channel. Soffer generally acts as cameraman and editor on most his work, while collaborating with the Gabriel films team on writing and producing.
