The average incarcerated woman in America:

- is the product of a single parent home...
- has one family member who is incarcerated...
- has held 1-3 jobs in the year prior to her arrest, with her highest wage ranging between $3.36 and $6.50 an hour...
- was abused between the ages of 5-14, usually sexually...
- dropped out of high school (34% due to pregnancy).

Prison Screenings:

Each prison screening will consist of:

- A screening of the film for the inmates.
- A one hour discussion directly after the film with the prison counselor.
- Educational materials with penpal contacts and resource information.
- A curriculum guide which will enable the prison educators to continue these discussions.

Town Hall Meetings:
Each Town Meeting will include:

- A screening of the film
- A panel leading a discussion about the film. The panel will be comprised of:
        * families of inmates
        * prison employees
        * legal practitioners
        * victimsą rights advocates
        * criminal justice advocates.
- Issues raised in the discussion will include:
        * should mothers in prison be allowed to keep their newborn babies with them?
        * is capital punishment ethical?
        * what is the best way for children to visit their incarcerated mothers?
        * how do we combat the high recidivism rates?
